MESSAGE OF THE PRINCIPAL

This is a great honor and privilege for me to be an active member of PKG Group of Institute serving the people at the eastern and central Kolkata, meeting their healthcare needs with passion and commitment mainly to the south and north 24 pgs. The enormous effort put by all the doctors, medical teachers, nurses and paramedics, and other technical and managerial staff at PKGMC&H has created a unique ambience where patients feel secured and safe, and students experience the joy of participatory learning in an optimum eco-system. I feel proud to be a Principal of this esteemed institution.

It is truly fascinating to note how, under the close and active oversight of the honorable Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Trust that runs this institution namely Dr.Pradip Kumar Ghosh and Mrs. Rebekah Ghosh respectively, the organization has been making all round progress.

PKGMC&H has been offering the MBBS program since 2025 with an annual intake of 50 students. With the approval of the competent authorities, the intake capacity is likely to be increased to 150 in 2026 and further expanded to 250 in near future. Within a couple of years , we are to start the postgraduate courses in several clinical subjects. However, soon we expect to run the postgraduate MD and MS courses, in different subjects abiding by the rules & regulations of NMC. We also run BSc (Nursing) and General Nurse Midwifery Training courses too. Further a host of Paramedical courses are also to be offered. In 2025, PKG Group of Institutes expanded its academic portfolio by introducing Public Health University and planning to offer , both Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) programs. A glorious part form institute is I3T (International Institute Of Innovation & Technology) with upgraded research facilities.

The 690 bedded multispecialty hospital attached to the medical college incorporates all the general specialities and also some selected super specialties like Cardiology, Neuro-Medicine, Neuro-Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, Oncomedicine & Oncosurgery, and many more.
